At 4:35pm, February 25th the Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire located at the Sugar House at the the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. PRFD responded with an engine, source truck and a tanker. An engine and tanker from South Salem was also requested to assist with water supply and suppression efforts. Sixteen minutes after dispatch, the fire was contained and mostly extinguished. Further steps were taken to check for fire extension. Units returned to service shortly thereafter at 5:27pm having confirmed that there was no further danger of re-ignition. We would like to thank the South Salem Fire Department for the quick response. Also we would like to thank the ladies and gentleman that work at 60 Control, the county wide dispatching center, that operates seamlessly 24/7/365.
