Weekend Training

This past weekend, March 12th and 13th, members may have lost an hour of sleep but gained valuable time in front of the pump panel. Members took advantage of the weather and utilized the pond behind the firehouse to "flow some water". Members used Engine 112 (source truck) to draft water from the pond and supply Engine 113 (2nd Due Attack Pumper). Drafting plays a key roll in firefighting for Pound Ridge because there is no city water supply. Members must rely on a static body of water or tanker/tender shuttles to supply a consistent amount of water to a fire scene. If you think you have what it takes to get behind the wheel of a fire engine and be a part of our team, email us at recruitment@poundridgefire.com or stop down at the Fire Department for more information and possibly fill out an application.
