Yesterday 12/30/16 at 12:46pm The Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Department was requested by New Canaan Command to respond with Tanker 3 to 610 Cheese Spring Rd in New Canaan for a working garage fire. Car 2402, and Tanker 3 responded to assist. Other units from Westchester requested to respond included Vista Tanker 4 and Westchester County Battalion Coordinator 13. Upon Arrival Members were put to work assisting New Canaan Fire Fighters with checking for extension into the attached home and overhaul of the garage. Car 2402 assumed water supply command and assisted New Canaan Engine 2 in drafting from a near by pond and getting a static water supply in operation. County Coordinator 13 assisted New Canaan Command in keeping in radio contact with members from the Westchester Departments and relaying vital information from various other resources on the scene. Members from The New Canaan Fire Department arrived on scene very quickly and can be credited with stopping the fire progression to the rest of the house and saving the structure.
