Winter Storm Jonas Update

The first due engine is chained and members are standing-by in anticipation of the impending snow storm. For your own safety and the safety of others, please stay off the roads and let the highway department plow and salt. Also some key points to remember throughout the storm are listed below. Help us keep you safe by dialing 911 to report any emergency that may arise throughout the storm.
-- Winter Storm Watch issued by the National Weather Service for our region remains in effect for: Saturday, January 23, 2016 (6:00am) into Sunday, January 24, 2016 (1:00pm)
-- Snowfall is expected to start around 5:00am and end around 10:00pm Saturday, January 23, 2016.
-- Snow accumulations: Possibly up to 2 to 8 inches
-- Winds: From the north 15-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph
-- Temperatures: Upper 20s – Low 30s with temperatures warming up during next week
-- NYSEG: Is also monitoring the situation. If there are outages they should be reported directly to NYSEG at: 800-572-1131 Crews will remain in the region until the storm passes.
