MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Firefighters from around the region participated in the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department's 100th Anniversary Dress Parade.

The parade was held on Route 6, with folks gathered on the sides. Town and county officials were gathered at a reviewing standing. Several vintage firetrucks and musical groups were included in the parade.
Participating fire departments included nearby neighbors such as Mahopac Falls, Carmel, Croton Falls, Lake Carmel, Kent, Patterson, Putnam Lake, Brewster, Somers and Lake Mohegan. Fire departments from further away included Yorktown Heights, Mount Kisco, Montrose, Verplanck, Millwood, Croton, Goldens Bridge, Katonah, Bedford Hills, Pleasantville, Ossining, Tarrytown, Valhalla, Thornwood, Mamaroneck. Several fire companies from Danbury also participated.
Ambulance corps from Carmel, Garrison, Putnam Valley, Sleepy Hollow and Eastchester were included.
