Seven days into the new year the Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Department responded to its first call of the year. The reported chimney fire was dispatched to members at 7:30pm. Upon arrival of car 2402 (Asst. Chief Brent) a report was given to incoming units of a heavy smoke condition in the residents and all occupants out of the building. Engine 111 arrived on scene and a crew entered the residents to check for visible fire, a second crew was sent to the roof to check the chimney. Crews also vented the residents and removed unburned debris from the fire place. At 8:10pm units where back in service ready to respond to the next incident. The cause of the incident was a closed flu.
